When a facility’s tool configuration or floor plan changes, the sprinkler heads also need to be relocated. Hard-piped relocation is labor intensive within the clean space, and continuously jeopardizes cleanroom air and filters. It requires draining the system, which can contaminate the clean space by off-gassing. It also requires the removal of existing epoxy-painted pipe, releasing paint chips into the air and filters. After relocation, the new pipe must be sanded, painted, and sealed--again threatening the clean space and filters. The results are potential replacement and rescanning of the filters, and possible inventory loss due to contamination of the finished product if compromising particles/gasses escape detection. In contrast, FlexHead sprinkler relocation simply requires turning off the water pressure, unbolting the all stainless-steel sprinkler drop, and moving the head to a new port location. The result is faster, cleaner, and safer relocation. |
