| Duct Model Sprinkler System Specifications |

For New Ductwork Installation
Sprinkler assemblies in acid and solvent exhaust ducts shall be FlexHead model 1036 manufactured by FlexHead Industries, Inc. of Holliston, Massachusetts as approved by Factory Mutual Research.
Each FlexHead assembly unit shall consist of 1 IPS flexible stainless steel hose, a two part mounting block, and EPDM gasket, a 165°/212° F brass, wax coated sprinkler head and an assembly of two 4 mil polybags. The unit is to be supplied and installed as per manufacturers recommendations by the HVAC contractor as part of the fiberglass duct systems. The ductwork manufacturer shall install the bottom mounting blocks in the factory in accordance to manufacture guidelines. The HVAC contractor is responsible for verifying the integrity of the bond between the mounting block and the duct. The HVAC contractor is also responsible for the installations of the FlexHead assembly to the mounting block.
THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for final connection and fill and test of FlexHead unit to sprinkler sub-main via a 1 IPS union supplied by the fire protection contractor in accordance to NFPA guidelines.
To Retrofit Existing Ductwork
